Les puits (2008)
 artists sculpture : Marie A Côté sound: Olivier Girouard description Les puits are made of two porcelain bowls superimposed. The bottom of the bowl on top is pierced, which produces an optical void that blurs the distance between the two bowls. A speaker is hidden inside the bottom bowl, and the sound travels up, bouncing off the surfaces and reaching the viewer. The work relates sound with the resonance and volumes of vitrified clay to evoke the depths of a well and the immanence of subterranean waters. |
